Hello, I'm Kristy
My Name is Kristy Rivard and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC.) I have been working in Monroe County for over 10 years and have enjoyed my career in the community I live and serve.
As a counselor, I strive to meet the client where they emotionally are and assist them to discover what their options and choices are in their life. Discovering where clients want to concentrate their efforts and change their lives is my goal. Everyone is different and you will be treated as an individual.

Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Michigan
LPCs provide mental health services that focus on behavioral, emotional, and mental issues in various healthcare settings.
Five years agency experience with CCSEM
As a behavioral health clinician I counseled children, families, young adults, and adults with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, behavior issues, and grief.
Counseling Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University
In 2003 I received my Master of Arts (MA) in counseling degree that prepares graduates to become licensed professional counselors (LPCs) in Michigan.
Special Education Degree from Eastern Michigan University
In 1997, I graduated with a B.S. Degree in Special Education that focused on teaching how to best work with special needs children in a school setting.
Interventionist at Monroe Catholic Elementary School
For 3 years, I counseled and monitored students concerning school and social issues. Referred students and parents to services needed and counseled students when emotionally distraught. Teacher at Bedford Public Schools
For 7 years, I taught special education in the middle school setting working with students with ADHD, learning disabilities, and emotional concerns.
